Indoor Evaporator Coil

This coil resides inside your indoor ducting, usually very close to you furnace or air handler, and is receiving the liquid Refrigerant from the condenser through a tiny hole or expansion valve. When the Refrigerant hits the coil it expands and its pressure drops changing it back to a gas. As the gas evaporates it extracts heat from the air. The now cooler air is allowed to recirculate back through your home. The Refrigerant is now back to a state of being a cool low-pressure gas and returns to the compressor to repeat the whole process again.
